Dragoon Morgans and Studios is located northwest of Spokane and visitors are always welcome with appointments in advance. We also have a dog and horse rescue on the farm. Dachshund Rescue NW (www.spokanewienerdogs.org) has placed over 2,600 homeless dogs since 1991. And we are the new directors of Rough Start Horse Rescue as of January 2020 when the old directors were moving out of state and we volunteered since 2010. We wanted to keep the horse rescue going and placed four foster horses in 2021! See both the dog and horse rescues on Facebook.
We need at least a week's notice in case we are at events or fairs or shows with our critters. Emails are best when outside working horses so please use the form below at the bottom of this page.
We have been in Morgans since 1964 and breeding old style Morgans with a lot of Foundation bloodlines, brains and bone. With being born and raised on a Morgan breeding farm, half the partnership here has been training, showing, breeding and placing Morgans for over 50 years. We adore our breed of horses and take them to events all summer long to talk to the public about Morgans at play days, parades, fairs and shows as well as trail rides.
Landline at the farm for messages only so no texting: 509-796-2140.
We are rarely near a phone when training horses and dogs here so please leave a message. Hit the # to skip tp the beep.
Margo is also a longtime horse and animal photographer and most of these shots are hers. See samples of her work at Dragoon Studios on Facebook and click photos then albums for current samples or http://www.dragoonstudios.net

The bay colt pictured in this section is our 2021 foal Dragoon King's Reign (RAF), (Marvelous Quest X Frazier's Passion N Pride) is older Foundation and Working Western lines so King has a lot of Morgan charm, brains, conformation and easy to train. King is available now that he is weaned. He has won Grand Champion Stallion in halter at his first show last August. He is a very sweet, sensible colt and in training until we find him the right home. I call him and King comes running when in pasture or a paddock. This is a very cuddly colt.
All our foals are worked with daily so a lot of ground work before and after weaning with all our volunteers as well as us. That training includes such as wearing towels, picking up all four feet, learning "whoa", touch everywhere at anytime, learning his show pose for halter and trotting on a lead, brushing, sacking out, wearing a blanket, sitting a saddle on his back, walking on tarps and going over obstacles, tying to the hitching post to learn patience and loading in trailers, etc. Our Dragoon foals have a very solid foundation of ground work since the day they are born.
We have sold all our other broke horses so we only have this 2021 colt available right now.
We lost a computer with all our past foals but we have had some nice foals by several stallions here under our Dragoon prefix since 2005 starting with Angus or Dragoon Scottish Highland. He is the black one in the snow below and one we kept for us. One palomino filly Brie we bought as a youngster when we were purchasing her dam Poppy and later her sire, Jay. We have trained and sold all the horses below. Many of our sweet, well handled foals we bred were sold quite young at two years and younger so we do not have adult shots of them doing their jobs. We do not breed a lot of foals here at our farm, but the ones we do we train very well from day one until they find their new homes. We did purchase back one foal, Dragoon Knight's Saber to retire here when his three day event days were done or the dressage horse below. We love having Sabre back to retire here with us and teaching kids about Morgans.
The first five photos below are Trigger our stallion in 2021 at our farm. The rest are just some of his foals! We are getting him into show shape so he can be seen in our region in 2022. You can see a list of his registered foals on www.allbreedpedigree.com under the Progeny list if you search his name.
Looking to buy?
I suggest Facebook and a page we run called Morgan Horses We Love. You can place wanted ads there along with details to have folks contact you. You will need to ask to join the page and give details why you want to join so we keep spammers and scammers off that page. There are over 9,000 Morgan people on that page now. It's one of the largest Morgan pages on that site.
If you are not on Facebook use the form on the bottom of the page and tell us what you are looking for. We can refer you to the right place in this region for your type of Morgans. The more specifics you give us then we can find the right Morgan barns in this region. Thanks.
Need Any Horse Photos in the Inland Northwest? Contact Margo at http://www.dragoonstudios.net Most of the photos on this site are hers. See years of photo samples on that site or on the Dragoon Studios Facebook page. Very reasonable rates for over 45 years experience shooting horse and animal shots.
Being in Morgans since the 1960s, we do have way too many memories to share here, but here are some fun ones for the last 15 years or so. The miniature donkeys are just for fun and our toys. We have no donkey foals for sale but we do stand our registered 34" mini jack to the public so message for more details about Chimera's Black Jake. He is our fun show jack and petting zoo boy. Our very sweet Jake has won many halter and in Hand Trail titles and he has lovely foals on the ground too. We are teaching Jake to drive too! I have included some horses that we have trained or was asked to show too when very fond memories!
