Above right is a filly that we bred by our broodmare Poppy here at the farm.  This is Peaches or Dragoon Grand Finale the day she was born and, above left, at her new owner's place as a coming five year old mare.  I am told she is a 15.2H out of a sire and dam that are both 14.3H.

These are just some of Jay's many foals below and right.

Standing at $500 to purebreds and partbreds plus mare care in 2018:

Baptiste Jay Cheyadow or Jay has lovely, mellow foals that are easy to train and handle.  Jay is a very mellow horse as well.  His bloodlines are 97% Foundation and bred on Canada.  Jay has nice foals of size, 15+ hands, all over the west coast and Canada.  Jay was born in 2002, a solid 14.3H and 1,000 pounds.  We handle him with just a halter and lead rope until breeding time when the stud chain comes on so he knows it is time to go to work.  Most times when breeding mares they are in foal with one cover.

This very sweet, easy to handle stallion already has 50+ foals on the ground.  Jay has been a very sweet trail horse or pony ride horse even as a stallion.  He has primarily been used for breeding.

When I mentioned I might geld him this past winter, I heard from many of his owners of his foals asking that we do not do that.   We do not need two stallions with one broodmare, but Jay is such an easy one to have around I decided to keep him when most folks wanted to geld him and not breed with him.  See some of his nice foals below on this page.  Jay has over 30 purebred foals in the US and Canada and about 25 partbred foals.

Just for grins I took Jay to show him in a halter class at a large all breed fair here in August 2017.  Jay won first in Stallions age 15 and Up and Grand Champion Stallion All Breeds, .  Fun day but I had to soap him up four times to get him to be clean.  That is Jay in his class, top tight, and some more of his foals to the right of that shot.

Jay is a rare color in Morgans, a cremello or tan with two blue eyes so he will have foals of color depending on the color behind the broodmares bred to him.  More on colors here:  www.morgancolors.com   We are not color breeders here.  I look for personality and conformation plus saw Jay's nice foals which is why we bought him.  I consider a fun color just icing on the cake.

Breeding details:  Stud fee is only $500 through this 2018 breeding season.  This price is no indication of the quality of his foals.  We just like more Jay foals on the ground.  All the usual breeding guarantees including live foal guarantee.  Mare care is $5 a day dry and $10 a day wet.  AI fees are the responsibility of the mare owners and cost around $300.  For live cover, we do prefer mares stay at least two months or two cycles so we can keep teasing to make sure they are covered or the mare owners can pay for an ultrasound from a local vet to confirm they are in foal before leaving.  When breeding we expect half down on arrival and the other half is due when the mares leave here.  We also do multi mare and 4H discounts.
